I put a real dual exhaust on my 67, no Y pipe, just pipes from each manifold, and large glass packs, nice sound at idle, and some extra fuel mileage, not too loud at speed even with camper shell and window boot. It was a 352 bored, 390 crank and flat top pistons, Sodium valves and mild cam. Horespower? Enough to tow 25' trailer over Donner pass , no problem.
you have sodium valves? i have heard that the sodium eventually eats the valve from the inside out, infact i know a guy who had a set of 427 cammer heads sitting on a shelf since like 72 and last year he went to get them to sell them and the intake valves had broken at the retainers and were sitting on the shelf when he picked up the head lol
be carefull with those valves, but looking at your sig. it says you sold it so it's not your problem anymore
yeah passing inspection is no problem if you drive under 5,000miles so just buy 2 gauge clusters roll one back to 100 miles since your last inspection (sticker on windshield) and swap gauge clusters for inspection you could run anything you want now because your emissions exempt
