Well heres the scoop and why it took so long. It seems now when the dealer calls for a Turbo replacement they send an engineer down to verifiy it needs it and there is nothing installed that caused the failure. So my awesome dealer found a OEM airfilter on a truck they had and put it next to my truck.
Also the silicone hose that attaches the IC pipe to the turbo was torn and would not stay on so that was also replaced, I paid for that as mine was a Banks piece. Thos of you that have the Banks I/C with the bigger I/C pipes you can buy the better/longer silicone connector from Ford, its a better piece I think.
They also removed the BD Brake wire connector from the EBS and just put it to stock.
So I gave the tech, a nice Heineken Tip and a gift card for Red Robbin to the advisor and I got to talk with the tech for a bit. He said:
"Great job installing the CCV reroute kit should help a lot with turbo coking and oil in the I/C issues, I wish Everyone would install one"
He took apart the Remn turbo and applied the anti-sieze that they put on the veins when they clean turbos He said I should be good to go and have no further isssues with that.
Apparantly my Injector and FICM may have very well caused all the coking in the turbo. Sadly he said no more 40 psi of boost and I told him that was ok an dhe said I fgured you wouldnt be upset over that.
All in all another great experience with my dealers service department.
And the cost of turbo replacement was 100.00 so hooray for me.
Nice! I'm surprised they send a tech out to inspect turbos now. Usually they don't come out unless the total repair bill exceeds a certain amount which is a pretty high limit. They didn't send one out when they replaced the small block and 1 head in my truck.
Sarge- Reading is only @ 35 min from me. Whereabouts are you going? Glad to hear about your good experience with the dealer. The Ford dealer I have been going to here in Phoenixville has been pretty good to me, but maybe thats just because I'm footing the bill!
I am heading to Robesonia PA, thats where my aunt lives, from there I will be traveling about 3 hours northwest to Penn State, not rear sure what town I will be in. For me this will be about 1000 miles on the truck in just a few days.
How much is diesel runnin in PA now, it 2.41 up here and I am debating to wit to fill until I get there or top it off before I leave and fill up at Penn. State or Reading.
I took a little trip today with the wifee and the pup. I had reisntalled my favorite innovative tune, Street, and this truck is running great. Shes a monster again and I am a happy guy. The truck didnt skip a beat, EGT's were running about 200* cooler, and the truck didnt boost above 35 psi. I am real happy and cant wait for the trip ahead of me.
She just needs a nice bath and we'll be ready to roll.
I paid $2.399 beginning of last week. It might be cheaper in Reading than here, and might even be cheaper around Penn State. State College is beautiful, if you're into mountainous terrain. Some towns are a little run down but the college and surrounding area is nice. We're planning to move up around Williamsport after the kids are done H.S. in @ 10 yrs. Thats @ 45 min from State College. We were up there last weekend for a buddies wedding and I saw fuel as low as $2.21. Have a safe trip, hope the SD runs great for ya!
I guess I will top it off before I leave and see what it is in Robesonia. I should be able to make the trip from here to Penn State with the 60 gallons I hold so if I fill up here I should be ok.
I am hoping the truck runs good but after todays trip I think things will be good.
