Idle problems

Hi. Im new to this site but like all the info i gathered off it already.. I own an 04 6.0 and love it. I have a bullydog, air intake and custom stacks on it.. but recently have been having some problems with my idle.. when im at a stop the idle jumps to around 1100 and jerks the truck (and everynow and then shuts the truck off) and when i start it back up it throws a big puff of smoke then settles to around 1000... I tried turning the chip to stock but it still does it. Could the bullydog be pushing it to hard or is my pump getting ready to give out?

Look around in this thread and you'll see no one thinks an aftermarket Air Intake is better than the original one that came with your truck....unless you go over 500 HP in mods. The danger is: 1. you can dust the turbo and 2, Lose your turbo/engine warranty.

The Bully Dog IS prob pushing the truck too hard too.... Do you have a white residue around your Coolent Bottle? Possible you've stretched your head bolts. The tuner too could jeopardize your engine warranty.

What color is the smoke? How many miles on the truck? Any codes? Could be ICP issue. Could be many things.

Smoke is black... most of the time when i get in it its greyish black.. 115k. one came up as a blank and another is trouble reading code. "Do you have a white residue around your Coolent Bottle?" No but it has overflowed from the water tank once B4 i had the bullydog.

What is a blank code? Are you reading them with a scanner?

My buddy has a shop ive been taking it to him to get them... The blank code comes up as nothing on my bullydog, his scanner and napa's scanner.. I don't really ride it hard ive showed some cocky dodge and chevy guys down with the ocational lawn mower some kid is driving down the street (i don't know what you guys call those little cars) and have a 24' fifth wheel, 35" tires and other then that its just light footed around town its parked for most of the day... im taking the truck down to my buddy today and ill get the exact codes on here right away..

p2285 is the icp sensor circuit low. this means you icp sensor is not reading the oil pressure it needs to. the icp works with the ipr valve to regulate the high presure oil flow to the injectors. most likely the icp sensor/ harness is bad, the high pressure oil pump (hpop), or an hpop seal/o-ring, or the ipr valve is bad or has debris in it.

mine was doing the same thing with the same code and now it wont even start (thats after replacing the icp sensor, harness, fuel filters, and cleaning the egr). i haven't had the time to tear it apart yet and look at it. if its the hpop itself a diesel shop quoted me $1600 plus tax.
