I have a 94 F150 Super Cab 5.0.
It would not start so I had I shop look at it and they diagnosed on the test equipment that the ignition control module was not working and they replaced it.
A few days later it died again and they replaced it.
It lasted two weeks and it too failed yesterday. They replaced it with motorcraft too. What could be causing this part to blow, there must be something before/after that part that is causing it to blow out.
They replaced it with the black one. I just talked to my mechnic and hed said there was a part in the distributor that he will replace today that is causing it to blow. Thanks for the confirmation, thats why I love this forum.

The PIP sensor is an off and on switch and would not cause the ICM to go bad. It does the job of the old Ignition Points or the pick-up in the older distributors.
By the way if the ICM had a date code of 4L18B it is on recall and Ford should replace it for free.

Yes they had some bad ICM mounted on the distributor and they replaced them with some better updated ones.
But I would have thought yours would have been changed out years ago with the better ones.
Your problem sounds more like a PIP sensor then the ICM but it could be either.
I am having the same problem with my truck that jeff was having. Just my truck usually starts right back up with a couple extra cranks than a normal start. Except for today. It took about 3 min or so to restart
