Dome light stays on.
I have an 06 Explorer Eddie Bauer. It has the overhead map/reading lights just above the mirror.
Yesterday I noticed that it/they were on all the time. The switches do nothing. This has nothing to do with the position of the dimmer that can be used to turn them on manually (light over rear seat is turned on then also).
It is just these two bulbs and they stay on after a start etc.
Yesterday I replaced the auto dim mirror. The harness for that was jostled in the process. I had the door open at the time and so the lights were on then. It was after that I noticed it was on all the time. I don't know if this was a coincidence or cause and affect.
Any clue on where to start and sort this out?

I got the sequences on the switches goofed. I had the cover off and didn't realize the switch on the drivers side of the console controlled the light on the passenger side and vice versa.
Sorry for being sucha dufuss
But does anybody know how to negate the auto seat memmory???

Deactivating the memory seat feature
To deactivate this feature:
1. Press the SET control on the driver’s door panel.
2. Within 5 five seconds, press any control on the remote transmitter
which you would like to deactivate and then press the SET control on
the lower-center portion of the instrument panel.
3. Repeat this procedure for another remote transmitter if desired.
1. To disable/enable the easy exit
seat feature, select this function
from the SETUP MENU.
2. Press the RESET control to turn
the easy entry exit seat ON or OFF.
3. Press the RESET control for the
next SETUP MENU item or wait for
more than 4 seconds to return to
the INFO menu.
