simply put, no. youd be better off spending your money elsewhere. you dont really need any custom electronic controls until you want to get a little wild with mods.
I agree with 70torino429. Is your truck stock? If not, what has been done to it? My 96 F150 is OBDII, is your F250 OBDII? If your truck is OBDII, I wouldn't mess around with a chip, I'd go straight to a plug in programmer, but only if your mods to the truck warrant the expense.
Right now my exhaust is stock with the muffler removed. I ordered a K&N Intake, and Underdrive pulleys. I still am looking into a programmer. Would i benefit from one?
If that is all you are going to do for now with the modifications, then I wouldn't worry about a chip or programmer. You really don't have any modifications that would stretch the limits of the capabilities of the stock ECM as of yet. You will need a chip or programmer only when you get a "big" cam and/or heads and/or intake manifold. Even then, there are cams, heads, and intakes that will work just fine with the stock ECM.
