Hypertech Power Module Chip?
Hey what do yall think bout this Hypertech chip for my 89 F250 5.8 C6 trans. my motors bone stock ( with exception of glasspack ) and will the chip still throw in some power and im gonna throw in a CAI with it to. That's not such a great idea, it'll result in increased fuel consumption and engine wear and it's not even necessary, the computer goes open loop and adds more fuel any time engine load goes over ~60% anyway.

No.. we know it's a waste of money. The computers in these trucks are really primitive and simply don't have the amount of control that one does in a newer vehicle, so there simply isn't much to be gained with a chip. And on top of that any gains you could get with it can also be realized for free by simply advancing the timing at the distributor.

With these engines its a hardware issue, not software. If you want power/mpgs, you need headers, to ditch that y pipe, and then pop in a cam. You can even keep your SD system. Factory intake is a CAI, and a pretty well designed one at that. Don't waste your time/money with an aftermarket one. Also a 6liter tune up can do wonders.

Hope you all don't mind me asking a stupid question. What is "QC" and "IIRC"? I have seen them used a few times and don't know what they are short for.
