No after market ones available. I checked on ebay on several of them but like you said they went way off scale for me. I finally sent mine off and had them repaired. They look like new and I am well pleased.
I saw a couple in Moultrie Ga. I was at the auto/vender show. The ones I saw were in as bad of shape as mine so I did not get them. Look around at auto/vender shows and you may find some. Good luck.
If you look on e-bay youmay find some, but usually the best way is to look through e-bay to see who is selling a lot of 48-50 parts (parting out a truck) and write to them and ask them if they have them. I've found ALOT of hard to find things just by writing to e-bay sellers and asking. Chances are someone probably doesn't know thye are hard to find, or just hasn't though about selling those little guys.
And I like the 48-50 hood with your five tooth 51-52 Grille! It looks like a DRAGON SMILING!
great idea on contacting the ebay sellers, and the dummy handles, (i didnt know what they were called) i need them too. gonna have to hit some swap meets thanks all.
Hi - I'm new to this site. I have a "50" F-1 that is in the process of being built with a 302/AOD. I'm trying to keep the body as stock as possible. Right now I'm working on the bed. I have a new front panel, rear stake pockets, and a new rear crossmember. In the process of fitting everything up I noticed that where the bottom of the rear stake pockets match up with the ends of the crossmember there is a 1/4" gap. I think I can pull the two together with a clamp so it can be welded. I'm assuming this has to be welded is that correct? It's been so long ago that I tore the old bed apart I forgot how the rear stake pockets attach to the ends of the crossmember. There is a cutout in the bed side where the rear stake pocket meets the rear crossmember. I'm assuming that the rear stake pocket must clear this cutout so that it touches the bottom of the rear crossmember - is this correct? Thanks for any help you can offer. Any pictures available so I can see what this looks like assembled? Thanks again, Dick
there is a thread already started that might help you, called 'bed pics needed'
jullie will be around soon, i'm sure she has diagrams for you to check out.
good luck.
