C6 tailshaft swap

I need yall's help again I have two C6 trannys. One is out of a truck with a 460 and 4x4, the other is out of a 2WD with a 390. I need the tailshaft from the 460 tranny in the 390 tranny. I took the tail housing off and that's about as far as I could go. I tried to take the front cover of the tranny off and I couldn't get it out after taking all of the bolts out. I'm stuck

Another question: Is it easier to pull and install the engine, tranny, and transfer case all togather? I had a hell of a time getting the tranny and transfer case out by themselves because I couldn't get the crossmember out.

Another question while I'm at it, I'm assuming the torque converters would be the same, right? Wrong? Sorry for all the questions, I'm a welder but not much of a mechanic

The output shaft in a C6 is the last thing out of the case. Same as an overhaul. The 390 torque converter is different from a 460 torque converter.
