starter sticks
timing problems is solved but now when i crank the truck the starter sticks and keeps tryin to turn over if i pull the starter and ignition wires off the solenoid it runs fine and the starter cuts off is this a wiring problem or should i replace the ignition switch

I have the same problem right now with my 74 F100 390. I have swapped solenoids and this has not fixed the problem. I talked with the owner of the local Napa store and from what he is telling me if the starter sticks it's most likely a problem with the ignition switch or the wiring, and not the solenoid. I am actually cleaning up my spare ignition switch as I write this to install into my truck this afternoon to try to fix this problem.
