[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Nov-02 AT 11:56 PM (EST)]hey guys, i took my 93 f250 wheelin lastnight. 4wd didn't work
well it worked, but the front hubs didnt engage, i pulled the hubs off today to find out they were full of mud.........gee i wonder why they didn't work....? i pulled the hub cover off, the exterior piece with the plasic **** on it to lock the hub itself. the cover came off ok, but i can't get the guts out, i need to replace/repack the front bearings so this hub has got to come out, any idea's?? i sprayed the crap out of it with penetrating oil and hopefully tomarrow it will be worked loose, but if that doesnt work then what?? theres nothing to grab onto to pull the guts out......thanks i hope this makes sense
Edit note:i forgot to mention that i removed the snap ring and the bigger ring on the outside of the hub, the fuse i guess it is, is just stuck and i cant grab onto anything
This may sound stupid--and I appologize if it does--but...take 2 of the bolts that holds the outer cap on and screw them into opposite sides(i.e don't put them side-by-side) of the internals and pull...
Also, there's a seal on the back side of the rotor. That could be where the mud came from....
