Red face Quick 02 sensor question

About a week ago the check engine light came on my 1997 4.6l (99 motor and trans) expy so I took it to auto zone and got the codes p0136 and p0141 this to me says that my rear passenger side oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. Right now the truck is running excellent no bogging, hesitation and im getting about 17 mpg on the hwy.

My question is how soon does this need to be fixed? I am a very poor college student and 50$ is sadly a lot of money to me...

Any insight would be helpful!!

The sooner it's changed the better. The downside to waiting is you can end up clogging the catalytic converter(s) prematurely.

The downstream O2 sensor will NOT cause any damage to anything in the system.

Your only downside (aside from the light staring at you) is that you won't pass an emissions test should one be needed.
