Trucks with 285's, what's your tire pressure?

I am trying to find a happy medium for tire pressure on my truck. I am just curious what you all, (who have 285's on their trucks), set your tire pressure at.

I try to keep between 55-60 all the way around. If I tow the GN I will bump up the rears to 65-70. Seems to work for me.

I run 45 psi in the front and 40 psi in the back when I am empty and when I tow or haul anything heavy I run 65 psi all the way around.

I run 65 all the way around for regular driving. When towing I run them up to 80

if you are talking "D" tires, then I run 55 psi front & 45 in the back (empty).tires seem to be wearing nice, & of course 65psi max in the rear when loaded.

285/75R16 Ds. I usually run around 55lbs in the front and 45-50lbs in the rears when empty. When loaded down good I run 64lbs in the rears and about the same 55lbs up front. In the winter I'll often run less pressure for traction purposes.

My tires are D's, I think they are Trail Cutters. How is the ride when you have 40-55 pounds in them?

Having 40-45 lbs in the rears really helps to calm the *** end down when empty. You'll find you won't get a good contact patch in the rears running 50+ lbs empty. The front end is hea vier than the rear unloaded so its makes more sense to run more psi up front and since the fronts turn it helps keep wear even. Just remember to adjust the air pressure after a rotation.

I run BFG T/A KO "D" tires.

After extensive chalk testing, 55-57 psi all the way around.

I'm thinking wheelbase, engine size & type, truck rake & 2wd/4wd, all will affect the tire contact & ride. It's something that is going to decide what pressure works best for each truck.

See I'm looking for more comfort. The truck is a work truck so I'm not so concerned about tire wear or mpg, just want a little softer ride. I know I won't get Lincoln soft but hoping for something better than what I have now. If I would have had my pick of what truck I drive I would have chose the 08 PSD. I test drove one and know they ride a bit softer.

I run E's so thats why I keep them inflated so much, as far as the ride...well its a 1 ton truck. I am sure that there are things that you can do but fooling with tire pressure may not be one of those things that is gonna make a huge difference without some adverse effects.
