I want a new F-150...however, there is no point in me "upgrading" to a 2009+ truck...only to gain a 6-speed tranny and Sync, and the Lockers...in some ways I feel I would be downgrading.Until Ford releases a SuperCrew Raptor, the F-150 is pretty safe from a trade-in.

btw, @ Sherm. I did just get a version of the Lasik surgery last year. I did the Militaries version called PRK. Went from about 300 in each eye to a 20/15 vision

Is the raptor rear axle beefed up or something? (I haven't paid the raptor any attention) The rear axles on FX4's are 9.75 right?

 

See if you could convince her to trade rims with you ? I would love to see your truck with those rims ..........

 

the Raptor axle is a 9.75 with a e-locker installed. should be pretty much a direct bolt-in on these model trucks...then some wiring for the locker


I already mentioned the rim swap with her. But then I remember the Expy has that stupid TPMS setup...and the truck doesn't. I don't even wanna go near that mess. Even for just a posed photo

Ahhh I see, very cool. But couldn't you achieve the same thing by switching out the diff and save some greenbacks? You could put the saved money towards say.... a pulley for your charger that up'd the boost! (if you havent done that already)

by the way did you test drive a 09 while at the dealer or did you just stay away?

 

I sat in one and did a little test drive...but IMO I would almost be downgrading (because of the Supercharger) just to get a locker and the 6 speed...they are freakin' nice though...way too nice for me to go near one again anytime soon...just in case you know


I still haven't done any extra boost on the truck...as you can see, the wife spends my money for me

nope...I'm actually trying to get stationed aboard the USS Texas (SSN-775) right now.

The USS Hawaii is supposed to be here in Late June, Early July...and the Texas sometime before Christmas.

If everything works, I'll in Hawaii for 5-6 additional years.

 

I wonder if a supercharger would tear the new 6 speed apart? The 4 speed you got tylus seems to be pretty solid unless you have had any problems with it?

 

Holy cow, I just wikied the USS Texas and that'd be an awesome sub to be on just so you can justify putting that crest on ur arm as a tattoo its pretty sweet. LOL
