What is the difference in the computers between auto or manual transmission? Will auto computer work with manual transmission?

The auto comp. should be OK with a man. Check out the thread a few lines down this forum page by Ztitan on doing a auto to man. swap.

It depends on what kind of automatic you have. The E4OD is computer controlled so the computer for it would not work on a manual.
Need more info though... What truck, year, motor, trans, 2wd 4wd, etc.

An E4OD computer will run an engine with a manual transmission, although it will turn on the check engine light because the transmission is missing. A manual transmission computer can't be used with an electronic automatic, but should work with a non-electronic automatic.
