when you order a new truck and get the snowplow package you'll be getting a auto 4x4 lock switch on the dash, no say in it.
so I'm in the same boat and this is a geat post.
I also have NO red wire so am watching closely how to do this with an upfitter switch
It appears to me the power to the uplifter switch needs to be deleted. I'm going to wait awhile and look for a 08 ESOF wiring diagram before ordering this ... Buy Now
I might do this to my F450 2008 truck, If I do I would splice the the gr/black wire and connect it to a normoly closed relay. Then power the relay with upfitter switch.

I doubt thats correct as I had configured mine with the snow plow prep and had my initial order put in that way. When I went to do the order we had to re do it all and I accidentaly picked the wrong suspension package so I didnt actually get it but even the 2010 build and price lets you get manual transfer case and snow plow prep.
I can see wanting auto hubs (and thank god ford put the manual lock feature on the auto hubs) but I just cant see why anyone would really want a electric enganged tranfer case. Is it really that hard pulling a lever back? I know many just take whats on the dealer lot and most of em are all electric...

And to add to this, there are other manufacturer's trucks out there where they have auto hubs, but a manual lever. Or no hubs at all, the front drivetrain is always spinning.
Me, I'd rather have manual hubs, and manual transfer case, but ... found my V10 on the lot and it came with ESOF. Electric transfer case shifter hasn't failed, but the hubs died within 1.5 years of driving it brand-new off the lot
