Help needed to identify this carb
I just picked up a 1967 Mercury pickup. It has a straight 6 in it. Don't yet know if it's a 240 or 300ci. I want to get a carb rebuild kit, but first want to verify it has the correct carb. The tag says: DOPF-A. On the side it has these numbers stamped into the body:
6R
3507
B
It's not your usual Autolite 1101, or Carter YF...
Here's a link to pics

Any info is appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks, I was starting to worry no one could help! That's a good starting point. I'll see what I can dig up on the Holley... I sure hope #1940 doesn't indicate the year

Do you know if that is an applicable carb for this engine?
I'll do a google search and see what I can find.
You rock!

Now I need to find a rebuild kit.
Once I have the rebuild kit, I'll post more pics.
Thanks,
John
I belive the #1940 was the carb used on 200, 240, 250, and 300 industrial engines.
Ive seen them on several engines in swathers, generators, and the like.
They are a decent carb that loves a tuneup and constant fidling. They never seem to run the same from day to day.
Good luck. If not find a carter YFA.
