I thought so!
I bought a 94 balljoint axle and then sold it to buy the 86 kingpin that's under the truck.
Ford went with the ball joints because it's easier to adjust camber. With the king pins, the axle has to be bent to adjust camber. With the ball joints, the camber can be adjusted by wedges under the ball joint.
Now the reality is that the chances of having a camber problem with a D60 are pretty slim so that's not really a benefit. It sure is with the old TTB since they have much more camber issues.
I just replaced the wheel bearing/ hub assembly on our 99 F350 SD DRW 4x4 race hauler and it only cost $1300 for the Hubs which are special order at most places plus another $40 for the brakes while we were at it. So if that tells you anything about why you dont want the SD D60.
You can't service them and it cost a couple hundred per side to replace them.
And not all SouperDootys had D60's some had monobeam D50's

That says it all.
Another reason why you don't want a SD axle is because the lugs are a metric bolt pattern. Our wheels will not fit on them.
