well i rewired the headlights with the mod and wiring diagram alot of people have used with the relays.and wow!!!!what a difference.the headlights are way brighter and way less of a draw on the batteries.my low beams are like my high beams now and my high beams can now permanantly blind people. im probably going to have to adjust them.i wish i would have done this way sooner like right after i tinted the windshield.thanks for all the help guys!!!
Thats what happened to me when I did it on my truck. Before I adjusted them, I had people flash me on my low beams...so I showed them that they ARE on the low beams.
Any parts house off road use only but if they are adjusted right they will not blind anybody and you can see. on my KW's my highbeams are aircraft landing lights I just dim them when meeting someone.
Is this something you wired up yourself or from a kit? I saw a kit at LMC Truck for $29.00 that doesn't require any wire cutting/splicing. Powers the lights through relays with power from a source not through the switch. (Anybody know if this works as good as they claim?)
Did you run different light assemblies or just different bulbs?
I have never used a kit but one wouldn't be hard to put together jacobs used to offer one.
On my 86 and on my semi's they were sealed beams so I had to change the headlight itself to be able to change bulbs, on the newer you can probably just change the bulbs.
I used the LMC kit. It came in a package that had a bunch of Chinese writing and was a little skeptical...but it was plug and play and made a difference. The only snag was the terminal for the (+) bat. terminal was alittle small, so I cut and spliced a larger connector on. took me 10-15 mins. tops....in 10*weather.
