I'd suggest a T-98 "4-Syn" transmission. Gears 2 through 4 are synchronized and parts/rebuild are still available.

Bill, i was reading this post and it seems to be saying that you have a 1965 F100 that has a Borg Warner T85 in it. I am trying to get the T85 to work in my 1966 F250. i can't get past the cab beam with the slip yoke. How does your F100 deal with that issue? can you send me a few pics?
