Well I am looking at two trucks right now. A 95 4X4 automatic and a 96 4X4 5 speed. I was wondering what I should look for when I go to look at these trucks.
Wellcome to FTE! First, get the best price, there are some good buys out there now. Smell and look at the oil for signs of fuel or antifreeze. Look for leaks and see what modification have been done. Rust is a big thing and also how clean it is tells you how well the owner took care of it. Ask lots questions and get a gut feeling of the maintence done on it. Good Luck!
Hope you can join the PSD club. Umm in 95 they didnt make an auto. So it was a conversion. Make sure everything was done right. Also, the PCM is in the drivers firewall, use a mirror and get the code off the PCM and post it here. If they used a manual PCM on an auto tranny there could be some serious damage.
Welcome to this side of the forum. Check as much stuff as you can. I would get at least a carfax report. An oasis report would be informative too. But like Oldbird said mostly it's gut feeling and trust in the seller.
I have an 85 6.9L IDI right now, but I cracked a head, so I am kinda looking for a replacement, then again I am kinda looking for another 85 or 86 so I will already have a parts truck.
