Can anyone tell me the torque specs for the ring gear bolts on the 9" rear?? How about the axle retainer nuts? I think the bearing caps is 65lbs but not sure. Thanks, Polkat

70 on the ring gear bolts, if the axle retainer bolts areb 3/8 - 50 lbs, 1/2 75 lbs, 85 on the main caps.

I did mine to 50 and it caused drag on the wheel. When I did it to factory spec (40) on my 1971 F-100 it went away.

Is my rear axle tube excessively worn to cause drag just from the retainer or do I possibly have other problems beyond a 31 year old 9 inch?
