Glad to hear you got it all back together. I know it was an ALL day affair when I did mine.
I still remember when I first took it for a spin(I repainted mine too), that they smoked BAD!!!! Sitting at the first traffic light it looked like it was burning to the ground LOL!!! Guess I shoulda waited in the driveway for it to burn off first. Oh well.
Mine took more like a day and 1/2. Those broken bolts nearly killed me. I know what you mean about the "smoke". I had the fire extiguishisher ready to go. I wasn't going to let my baby go up in flames.
I worked on my bolts previous to the project, so I knew what I had to do when I started. Only had one upper stripped hole. I used a nut/bolt instead of fixing it.
The time consuming part was cutting/welding the rest of the exhaust. The universal kit works pretty well, as the flex pieces get the tubing up/over the middle crossmember and then it's straight back.
