Can anyone help me,I have a 1993 Carvan that died on me as if it ran out of gas, pulled the tank and pump, tested pump on batt and it runs but not getting power at tank, replaced relay still no change.
any ideas????
So, did you get your problem fixed? I had your post moved to this Gen'l Automotive forum just in case you didn't. Hopefully someone here can help you out.
I had a late 80's Caravan with the Mitsubishi 4-banger carbureted engine. It would do that from time to time but if you let it set, it would be fine ntil the next time it did it. Which would be anywhere from 2 days to 2 months later.
My wrench man told me they had trouble with the carbs getting dirt in them past the OEM fuel filter. I didn't do anything to it, just lived with it and sold it a year later.
mopars have another relay called ASD (auto shutdown). It serves the same purpose as the inertia switch on Fords, only it affects more systems.
That could be killing you.
Also the computer has to power the relays, and they have fuses. You might find the electrical diagram at autozone. ( although I haven't tried them since they started asking you to register first).
Also, you might try allpar.com. Sort of an fte for mopars ( sort of, but there's a big minivan section)
Allpar is a good site for minivans. I've posted over there for mine and have had good luck especially on the older ones like your 93 (I had a 94 for several years).
