Need help!! Code P0106

My son's '06 F150 is running rough, won't idle smoothly and is throwing code P0106. I changed out the MAP sensor but it didn't help. What else could be causing the code?

Did you clear the code and it returned?

Yes it did. My next step is to remove the intake manifold and see if there is something stuck in there.

Did you get the code read? How many miles are on the truck?

97,000. I've checked for vacuum leaks. Can't find any.

Check your IAC valve, they usually go out around 80,000 miles. You can take it off and try and clean it out with a q-tip and see if that helps. If not, you need a new one.

I'm having a hard time finding where the IAC valve is located.

On a 4.6 it is on top of the engine, and on the 5.4 it is on top of the engine right next to the firewall. There are 2 bolts that need to be taken off along with a plug that needs to be disconnected.
