76 Tear Down...where to start

I recently picked up my 76 bronco which was advertised as a 77. It has disk brakes upfront and power brakes as well.

I am going to start to tear it down next week, but would like some advice. I going to use the fiberglass tub. Who should I buy it from? What parts should I save from the original sheet metal which is all scrap except for bronco sport emblems. I plan on keeping the seats from inside and having them recoverd. I also planned on keeping the steering column, but what else. I should keep the dash as well right? What about tail lense assemblies and headlight assemblies?

Ok I will quit typing now and wait for some answers.

Looking for a good set of doors as well.

Keep everything till you're done. What you don't need can be sold. Kentrol is the first thing that comes to mind for a body. I am told they are the best. Any of the lighting assembly's that can be reused will save you a lot of money. While most parts are available, some are not reproduced and pricey. E-Bay and classifieds at Classicbroncos.com are a good parts source.

x2 on keep everything untill you are done with the rebuild.
As for the fiberglass tub i know Early Bronco Restoration Full Size Bronco Restoration Classic Ford Bronco Parts For Sale sells one. no sure of the brand but its steel reinforced. So i would bet it would hold up well.

I have a Kentrol complete body and have recently seen a few of the Terracomp bodies at a show. They both seem to be very good quality. Ditto on the keep EVERYTHING until you are done. The silly things I forgot are costing me plenty. Not to mention the parts I bought and then changed my mind on. Oh well though, good luck!

Ziploc bags with labels for small parts and nuts and bolts. Be specific.

Take pictures and make drawings/ notes of anything that may be confusing or complicated. Things look different after a few weeks, let alone months or a year.

I zip lock and label everything. I learned that while rebuilding a 1952 F6 tow truck. I have done the same on the 1969 N600 I am rebuilding now. Great to have pictures as well. I tend to wash the parts let them dry, then put in ziplock w pictures.. Seems to be working very well so far on this build.

Thanks for the input!
