Belt-line

A while back I purchased a door seal kit and just now got doors done enough to install them. But when lining up the beltline, my stock slots are a tad off from where the tab locations are on the strip. Is this typical and should I have to drill new slots?

Are you sure you're trying to install the w/strips in the correct place?

As original 1968/70 & some 1971's: There are two different w/strips, not four.

The left inner is the same as the right outer, the left outer is the same as the right inner.

See post #5 for more info.

That was the case with the weather strips I bought from Denise;)Carpenter
(for friggin big bucks I might add;) the stuff looked to be made in China
same as LMC stuff, the clips weren't lined up right and the clips were crap.

"charge big bucks and they will be fooled into thinking it's good stuff" -D.C.?

Ford confusion...I wonder what the repro parts sellers are making?

2) C7TZ8121452A .. Belt Weatherstrip / Right Outer - Left Inner

2) C7TZ8121453A .. Belt Weatherstrip / Right Inner - Left Outer

Fits: 1967/70 F100/750 and 1971 F100/750 before serial number K40,001.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) C7TZ8121452A .. Belt Weatherstrip / LEFT INNER

1) C7TZ8121453A .. Belt Weatherstrip / RIGHT INNER

1) D1TZ1021452A .. Belt Weatherstrip / RIGHT OUTER

1) D1TZ1021453A .. Belt Weatherstip / LEFT OUTER

Fits: 1971 F100/750 after serial number K40,001, ALL 1972 F100/750's.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Why buy these from repro parts sellers?

Most autoglass shops sell these AND the clips separately.

In the autobiz, there are called CAT WHISKERS.

Autoglass shops sell a w/strip that's 3 feet long, then it's "CUT TO FIT"

On my dentside that's what Denise did, took a straight strip and bent it,
(wrinkled up and all) put the sorry clips (that "look" like the real thing) at
the wrong height and the one in the curved part was put on crooked.

I bought a set from Ford and installed them years before and they were
made curved, so had no wrinkles and the clips were identical to the ones
that came with the truck and when shoved into the slot clicked and held
tight. The clip in the curved section was turned to match the curve and
placed at the correct height to match the door's slot, too. :)

DC's are sorry pieces of crap compared to the ones I bought at the
dealership, but what burns me is they charge like they are NOS.

DC prob'ly gets theirs from LMC ;) or from the same supplier, bethca. ;)

1967/72 F100/350 Belt Weatherstrips aka anti-rattle w/strips

Genuine Ford Parts: See post #5 for the applications.

All are obsolete, but...

C7TZ8121452A

FORSYTH MOTOR CO. in Rockport GA has TWO.

DON SANDERSON FORD in Glendale AZ has 17: 623-642-8762.
-----------------------------------------------------------
C7TZ8121453A

FORSYTH MOTOR CO. has ONE.

BELK FORD in Oxford MS has TWO.

DON SANDERSON FORD has 13.
------------------------------
D1TZ1021452A

BECKMAN FORD in Garnett KS has TWO.

DON SANDERSON FORD has 14.
------------------------------
D1TZ1021453A

GUY M. FISH CO. in Spartansburg PA has ONE.

DON SANDERSON FORD has 9.

Sanderson sells their obsolete parts below their original cost.

Which means they're prolly much cheaper then buying aftermarket parts, and these are geunuine, so they will fit.

i'm sure. they are so long that they need cut down and they still would not line up with the slots. got them of ebay and paid a pretty good chunk for them. got the run channels and all in the kit and have no problem with them accept for some minor trimming.

Number: do you have an idea what kind of price Sanderson is charging for the two sets?

I just called Sanderson, their computer was runnin' slow, so it took 15 minutes of sittin' on the dang phone to get the following info:

1967/70 & 1971's before serial # K40,001:

2) C7TZ8121452A

2) C7TZ8121453A

Sanderson's price: $17.23 each.
