Bronco backfire

I recentley acquired a 1982 ford bronco. I'm not sure what engine it has but it is a staight 6 cylinder. It bacfires every time i let up off the gas i know the timing is right could it possibly be the carburator?

Welcome to FTE! You need to post this in the correct forum. Below are the links to the 1978-1996 Full-size Bronco forum and the Ford inline 6 forum.

Your Bronco should have the 300 inline 6 if it's the factory engine and hasn't had a transplant.

Good luck!
