The previous owner supposedly had the transfer case rebuilt, but i've been having a few problems with it. First, it is hard to shift into 4-lo sometimes..... that's no big deal though. The major problem is that sometimes the transfer case will make a loud, continious popping noise that will go away if i shift into 4wd with the hubs unlocked or if i come to a stop, something seems to "pop" into place and the noise goes away. This noise never happens if i have my hubs locked though. My boss at work (i work at shop) said the chain might be loose. does anybody have any suggestions as to what this sound could be? also, who sells rebuild kits for the 208 and how hard will it be to rebuild?
