My nephew has a 99 F350. He hasn't had any problems with it until Saturday. We were driving along when it died and won't start. He was going to put fuel in it as it showed 1/8 tank. We added 5 gallons and verified the fuel bowl was full.
First pulled his TS Chip, put another working PCM from my sons 2000. Pulled the CPS & IPR from my 99. Checked all fuses. Attached scanner, no codes, showed oil pressure only building to about 50 lbs. Injector buzz test checked OK. He is thinking it may be the HPOP. Before we go to that expense, does anyone have anything else to try?
I know you said everything was normal.. but please check again for the wait to start light..I know when it first happened to me, I did not notice the lack of the light the first time.
There is one other sensor ( I think ) that will do this to you.. IF you unplug it, you will be able to run, but not drive.. I want to say ICP?? Hopefully someone else will chime in with the right answer..
I'm not sure 5 gallons of diesel is enough. Did you open the fuel bowl drain, turn the key to the on position to look for a good flow of fuel out the hose under the engine?

You are correct- it's the critter on the front of the driver's side head, facing inward toward the HPOP/fuel bowl.
Engine oil full? Make sure you didn't damage an o-ring and got the tin nut back on right when you swapped the IPR. Truck's not going to start if you're only seeing 50 psi of high pressure oil. Does IPR duty cycle go up to 65% while cranking? Unplugging the ICP sensor won't hurt and is worth a try.
