More fender questions...
Looking at the front fender between it and the cab ('49 F-2), and it looks like the fender has 'staples' on the edge that would/should contact the cab... looked this way on both sides. How close should a properly installed fender be to the cab body? What's those staple looking clips?

The staples held in a rubber weatherstrip that was between the cab and the fenders. Most of the time the weatherstripping deteriorated and the staples became apparent. No one reproduces the staples and/or the tools to staple them. So, the repro weatherstripping is glued on.
