my main concern is i want to get a good running engine with plenty of power, but i dont want to go through too many headaches trying to find all the stuff i need (oil pan, timing chain cover, etc..) cause i got a 351m for that.
i found this website ( http://market.autopartsfair.com/ford...rino&year=1972 ) with a non smog 400m and was wondering if everything is interchangable with my mid 70's 351m. plus i need to know if there are any major differences here (between a car and truck engine) because on the site it says something about the 429 being not for trucks.
I think the main differences between a truck engine and a car engine are the front timing cover and the oil pan. If i remember right the car engines the dipstick went in the timing cover instead of into the oil pan. The car engines probably had a different sump setup in t he oil pan than the trucks..
