my cel keeps coming up every morning when i start my truck and it only comes on when the engine is cold. i have changed the oil light comes on but truck does run a little better. i have tried 2 different scan tools to try and get the code out of it one from advance auto parts one from autozone and niether one can pull the code out of the truck but i have used them before and they have pulled codes just not this time. could pcm be bad and not linking up with a scan tool or could the scan tool just not be able to read all the truck codes and one the one it's throwing now the scan tool can't pick up?? also when the light is off and i stay in the truck hard i get cel but i think that one is from running out of oil. anyone got any ideas? or a cheap way to get the codes out?
truck is a 97 f250 5spd 4x4 with 6637 3'' dp stage II's dp tuner f5 chip.

You need to find someone with a PSD capable scanner. The parts stores can pick up generic codes, but not engine specific codes on these trucks. If you can't find a buddy or fellow member here that will scan the truck for you, you're going to need to pay a diesel mechanic to scan it.
I'll guess you're from Arkansas. You might post up what part. We have a few members from out that way that might be able to scan it for you.
