i've been picking up a code 2285 recently and i've read that it is the icp sensor does the code mean that the sensor is bad or that it is reading the wrong pressure and what size sensor socket do i need to replace the sensor
You most likely have a bad sensor. You need a 1 1/16" deep socket, and it should be a 3/8" drive with a universal and several extensions if you replace it from above. I just changed mine and it took 3 hours, but it isn't hard, just time consuming. Snap-on makes a socket for the ICP, it's $38 +/- and I thought it was worth it.
Late 04 and up the sensor is on the passenger valve cover towards the front.
By the way there is an o-ring between the valve cover and the oil rail do not dislodge it when removeing sensor or screwing in new one. Also has o-ring on sensor itself.
P2285ICPInjector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Causes areOpen circuit, short to ground, ICP sensor
To be shure its the ICP sensor I would check ICPV @ KOEO should be .18-.24volts at KOEO
And Most time it is Bad ICP sensor itself
But it is Electrical DTC so it could be a couple other things
you will also need to inspect ICP Wire Pigtail for Oil
