As I was flipping through my owner's manual I noticed one of the available options was a rear view mirror with displays for outside temp and a compass in it. I'd really like to have one on my truck.
Has anybody ever bought and installed one? I quickly scanned the LMC catalog and didn't see it. Would the dealership sell a kit?
What I would like to know is can a temperature probe be added to a early 1999 overhead console? I've got the compass built into the console and I am pretty sure the later models had temperature included in the console. Anyone know?
Neal, I'd suggest pulling your overhead display board out and compare it to the pictures in the overhead display fix thread. See if you've got the same number of those little resistors, or whatever they are that work themselves loose.
My guess is you'll have to change out the circuit/display board to a newer model, then run the additional wires to the new temp sensor.
