the diesel swap didnt pan out so i am going to fix what i got.i cleaned the throttle body ,it runs better.my question is the throttle doesnt return allthe way making it idle kind of high.i put on a stiffer return spring but that didnt help. i can move it by hand and it goes down but as soon as i hit the gas up it goes.is it possible the tb is warped or worn out.

id say make sure the return spring is lubed up just hit it with some pb blaster or wd 40 and also something i had happen to me which caused almost the same thing was the throttle cable from the gas pedal in the cab that hooks into the top of the throttle body was cracked causing it not to return all the way so you might want to check that. ive never heard of a warped or worn out throttle body

I have the same problem on my 91. However it only does it when its warm or hot outside. in the winter time it works just fine. I added a VERY stiff return spring that worked for a few weeks but now its acting up once more? I was wondering if it was a TPS acting up?
