Like i said, it runs really frickin good to be anemic. I would say it has about as much get up and go as my 95 with 302. But there is a "sweet spot" in the accelerater, too much throttle and you can feel the power drop off. As far as the low end torque falling off after the exhaust mods, I'm not sure. I am running 2" pipe into an 18" glasspack. I was going to port match the intake, head, and exhaust manifold, but it was all pretty well matched up. I want to put on a set of Chevy 6 cyl. rockers and beehive valve springs, instead of tearing into it to swap the cam. I am building this truck on a budget, from the Chevy rockers, to the recycled Mustang GT seats, down to the $55 PPG paint job. As far as the rear end ratio, I'm not sure. It cruises 70 pretty well. When it dries up around here I will get under it and try to find the tag.

Do you have cats?
The 300 has a very specific sweet spot. Above or below it is nothing but noise. I think the sweet spot must start from 1,500 to 2,000 rpm. I noticed my truck really takes off as long I have the OD off. It doesn't fall on it's face as much.
I just had my Inline 300 rebuilt by a shop. I should of did some reading before I had them do it. I would of asked for a better cam and stuff and lifters I guess. Anyways I was on a website "Jgs" and they had a package deal for my 300. It had Offy Intake, Holly 390 Carb, Header all for $800. I need just a simple answer. Would I see a increase in top speed? The reason why I ask is. After the motor was put back in. Top speed is around 70MPH.. That is too slow for Interstate speed. I don't want a speed demon, just something that will stay up with traffic.
What is your gear ratio? With a 3.08 gear ratio I could bottom out my speedometer with no problems. I went from the 3.08 to 4.11 and my top speed is about 70. I'm tapped out at 60 but I can get it up to 70. Do you have a 4.10 gear?
Remember Im a novice at all this stuff. I'm really not sure. It's a 2wd with a c4, had the tranny rebuilt also. Is there anyway I can find what gears I have looking at the diff?
Jack up the rear. With the transmission in neutral, put a mark on the tire and a mark on the drive shaft. Turn the tire 1 revolution, while you turn the tire count how many times the driveshaft turns. If it turns 4 times to the tires 1, you have a 4:1 ratio. That method will get you close.
Awesome. I don't have my truck with me right now. It is a guys place, he is putting all new body parts on it. everything is new except the cab. I found a sweet cab with noooo rust what so ever on it. Paid 200 bucks for. hehehehe the guy didn't know what he had . hehehe
