Surge question

Well, after installing my Dp Tuner, I have been noticing more & more that I have turbo surge. (more & more meaning.. the more times I smash the go pedal)

The wife committed us to taking our 5th wheel to her dads this weekend for Easter. As much as i'd much rather have our camper to sleep in as opposed to an air mattress or a fold out couch, I am concerned about the surge & towing. Its only a 100 mile trip, but there's quite a few hills to pull along the way. Will using my 60 tow tune & just being careful in trying to limit the surge harm anything for this trip until i have time to get & install a WW? I guess I could pull it in stock if need be..

Downshifting is the answer.

If you start to surge say while you are pulling up a hill in overdrive, just push the button on the shift **** and drop it down into 3rd. That will get the RPM's up and pull the turbo out of the surge range.

Or if you have a 6-speed, it's even easier.

If you start getting surge, put the chip back to stock. Your truck will still pull the camper. Then get the WW or ATS housing to stop the surge.
