The other day, as I was working on my truck (dang PMS) my daughter came running over to me, alerting me that the fire was getting BIGGER & BIGGER !!! When I went around the opposite side of the house I saw flames at least 15 feet high. Turns out a fire started on my neighbors property below, caught a huge brush pile & 2 bales of straw he had piled beside his shed on fire, was burning the bark off 2 large maple trees & was burning the leaves & dead grass.. on a path headed right towards our house. My old fireman instincts kicked in & grabbed the garden hose & was able to keep it in check til the FD arrived. But I stopped the fire within 3 feet of a row of 20 ft tall evergreens that are RIGHT against out house. Had they caught fire, it surely would have caught our roof on fire & most likely got into our attic thru the eaves. The side of my neighbors shed was also on fire & the shingles were melting & dripping off. Luckily I got it slowed down & there was no damage inside.
Maybe this isn't the right place for this, but I just wanted to share the story with my FTE "family" We definitely are proud of her !!
Congrats. You should definately be proud. Now go get her something that she wants with that gift card! Plus maybe some ice cream, and perhaps some other treats. Just spoil her for all of us.
That is a very smart little(big) girl.I know you are proud of her and should be....Great post!...The situation could have been terrible if she did not come and tell you...Congrats!
That's a great story. Make sure to let her know we're all proud of her. And tell her she can add as much Pink stuff as she want's to her truck when the time comes.
