Try taking out the schradder valve in the fuel filter head and see if enough fuel squarts out. Could be a clogged fuel line or bad lift pump.
Next thing is air in the air injector lines, so try cracking them at the injectors and turn the motor over a good 10 revs or until all the air comes out.
You dont have to crack the lines these are self bleeding.
Have you changed your filter if not change it pour the diesel out and see what it lppks like ,now fill the new one with a good additive instead of diesel. Now you can have someone crank it while you press the schrader valve until it is straight fuel (no air)
Do not crank over 20 seconds then let the starter cool down 1 1/2 to 2 minutes before cranking make sure your batteries are hot as these will not fire unless your starter is spinning them pretty fast.
Make sure you are getting voltage to your ip and you can here the fuel solenoid click when you turn the key on.
How long is your wait to start light staying on.
Any open ended system is self bleeding!
The fuel system on the IDI is an open ended system and you don't need to bleed anything.
Most fuel system are open ended.
The purpose of bleeding a fuel system is to make it start quick and run on all cylinders at start up, not one, then two then three etc... cylinders as each one pushes the air out.
actually my wait to start light does not come on. i do hear a click when i turn the key to on before i turn it more to start. if i leave the key in the on spot, some soloniod will click every second or two. i have not changed the fuel filter yet but i wanted to have a few options in case thats not it. like i said, it was running rough two weeks ago when i fired it up.
what is the "schrader valve" and where is it? ill try pushing that down while someone else cranks it.
It looks like a tire valve steem its on top/side of the fuel filter head.
Have you tried plugging her in for a good 45 minutes then trying to start her, cuz if you GP's aren't working then she's really really not gonna want to start if theres any air in the system.

they are the devil to crank with air, and even harder when you dont have working glow plugs.
