yes my message center works. yes i was in reverse. no it dosnt do anything different when in reverse than in p,r,n,d. the message center options dont have anything different for reverse. it has all the options its suppose to except the reverse aide.
still got nothin. i wonder if the ford dealer can tell me if the truck even came with the option factory? its possible the truck was rear ended and the bumper was replaced with a used one that had the sensors in it. the harness would be pre wired in the chassis even if it didnt have the option, and the body shop may have just pluged the sensor harness into a dead harness. thats alot of maybes tho.
Does it start beeping when you back up close to something? If I understand correctly-you want to turn it off, but are not sure if your truck even has it? you would know if you ever backed into a parking space or within a couple of feet of anything. There is a warning tone/beep. Mine has the option in the message center also.
It's an option. Bigshots just plain doesn't work (Next I'd check the fuses and relays to make sure nobody pulled them). Brian's can't be stopped from working.
Roger, I was in a hurry to start work and thought it was one question. I did some calculations here and if they back into each other at 1.73mph the impact should cause a reaction that causes both systems to revert to thier factory default functions.
So BOTH vehicles are 04's and have no option for turning it off and on in the message center? Other people with 04's do have it in the message center. My 03 has it in the message center. Strange.
BrianK, I have to ask, does your back up alarm actually work? Do you hear the beeping when you get too close to something?

Reason: spelling
Mine works just fine. I just want to be able to turn it off when I am using my car trailer. I guess I could put my own on/off switch on it. I just replaced the subwoofer and I still have the interior panel off and I see the small speaker for it.
