My '00 single cab Ranger has the cheap leather seats. 60/40 split bench is what I would call it. I would love to have a console in my truck. what can i use to replace the seats and gain a console? Don't know if it matters, but my truck is a 5 speed manual transmission.
apparently the super cabs with kid seats have pretty nice looking bucket seats with about 12" space between them. Or at least the 87/88's did. Junk yard for those.
other options: How much do you want to spend? most aftermarket places can sell you the wildest stuff you ever imagined
My truck has a regular cab with the 60/40 split seats. I pulled the driver's seat out and cut the middle "seat" off. It took a little work and imagination to deal with the extra upholstery but I was able to trim it back and set a console unit between the two seats. That gives me two can holders and cubbies for other stuff.
I have no idea who could sit in that seat if the driver and passenger seat were both occupied by adults. The floor shift makes even worse.

Now that is an idea. I'll have to keep this trick in the back of my mind.
Thanks,
i have a 2000 ranger single cab with 60/40 cloth seats with a console your best bet is to find just the driverseat at a junk yard with a console on it and possibly match the upholestry up. the 60/40 seats from a ext cab ranger don't fit so dont try ( found that out the hard way) and the brackets are the same for single cabs from 98 to 03 then they changed i just replaced then entire bracket assembly because this little plastic part on the inner track broke. try the junkyard though i got a seat for 10 bucks. good luck oh yeah the entire 60/40 seat assembly is about 2000 dollars and the console by its self is about 220 so buy used and save
Explorer seat backs don't fold forward - unless you find some from a 2dr Sport.
Yes they do. The 4 door versions will still move forward although they do not release the seat track and slide forward automatically(mine is this way). The 2 door versions will unlock the seat track with the same lever pull. The consol doesn't go any further back then the seats so I don't think it would be too long.
