Been reading a few threads on these lately and I am looking to possibly install a stock 6.0 filter on my truck. I have the 6637 now and have been happy with it. I love the sound but I'm getting the feeling that my "passenger" is not real big on it when I'm pulling stuff. Any thoughts or opinions on this?
I have had this passenger for 10 years and the truck for 2. I think I'll hang on to this passenger for awhile longer.
As far as the 6.0 filters go, where can I get a replacement "Donaldson" filter? I know that fram and others sale replacement filters but would like to get one like the stock one. I can get the housing assy DIRT cheap, so that was my reasoning behind this.
I did check around and found the stock filters for a little more than the 6637. I think I am going to go ahead and do this mod and see what happens. It will prbably be a while though. I'll have to make a new battery box so I dont have to cut up my old one. I figure that with the zoodad mod this should work good.
Thanks for the offer Jim. I going to try to fab one up out of stainless steel. Shouldnt be much trouble. Since thats the type of stuff I do for a living. I'm going to work on it some this weekend...I hope. If I end up needing it I will holler at ya.
Yeah I looked at it but for the money I will have invested in the stock 6.0 filter I cant beat it. All I have to do is buy a new filter and lengthen my battery cable. The rest is FREE.....except my time.
