My Dad has a 1999 f-350 crewcab long box with the 7.3 powerstroke. The paint is what makes it unique, the color code is JU, Deep Violet. We cant seem to find how many trucks were made with this color. Can anyone on here tell us or point us in the right direction to find how many truck were made in this color? I tried calling Ford but didnt get any help. Thanks,
I don't think there will be an easy way to find that. There have been hundreds of thousands of superduties produced. It was hard enough to find the info for the other club I was with when there were only 80,000 produced and they only had three color choices for 2 years, the first year of production the option was black, black or black.
You're going to need a contact at the factory, someone who can look at the build sheets going back 10 years or so, then they are going to need to either hand count or export the data. Unless you have a great contact with a dealer who can print you every build sheet for that time frame. The last way I can think of, is to obtain from ford the volume of that paint they purchased, how much they had left over and how much it takes to paint a truck.
So pretty much I have no way of finding out. Thanks. Seems funny to me that I can find out how many Mustangs were made in any given combo for almost any year. But not for a truck.
The specialty markets have people with out a life that can and will dig up all of that information. You can find out, but you have to do some work or find someone who already has.
