Need some hood spring help!

Trying to change the spring on the pass. side of my '55. I don't have the special tool shown in the MF catalog. Not sure of the position the 2 arms should be in when installing. Help??

Mertz, I will pick up the install tool at NPD in Ocala today. Not going to get hurt trying to use vise grips or something.. Thanks.

Jim,..No problem, I hope the Instructions I sent ya were at least somewhat helpful....I took the spring off an old 'worn-out ' spring ' and it still scared the be-jesus out of me when it went sailing across the work area..Ha Ha..goggles/eye protection might be a good idea as well as heavy gloves ..Ha Ha..Good luck!
