Having charging problem again

Changed neg battery cable to the engine,found it was split where it was clamped to the frame.Started the engine and the gauge moved a little into the middle,but batt light is stll on.I have had the alternator tested a few times already but i think i need it done again.had it done twice by two different places and they said it was ok!?

Had problem with friends 93 150 6cyl. not putting out more then 13v. with rebilt alt.Long story short it turned out to be the old silicon on the output plug of alt. Very small pieces got inside the connecter, with a small wire I cleaned it out and it charged at 14.3

Turns out that one of the plugs was replaced going to the alt,found that the connections inside were damaged and i guess not making contact to get enough volts through,i never would have thought of that.,thanks JD
