Don't know for sure but I am sure they are the RS5000 as they are the high performance shocks for light trucks. If your replacing them - go with bilsteins buy 3 get 1 free!!
Does anyone know what model Rancho shocks are put on with the FX4 package?
They are Rancho "branded" not Rancho brand shocks. My guess is that they are the standard Motorcraft (or whatever the OE brand is) with cheapie plastic boots. They'll be good for a year or so then they'll be shot.
I have to go with either stock, Monroe, Rancho or Gabriel. It's my work truck and that's who I get, (told), to buy from. We are direct with those brands at my work. I tried working the owner over on letting me use his CC to order the Bilsteins but he said no. I know the shocks that came with my 05 are still working good at 92k but I am getting a little bounce out of the rear.
Ranch makes the shocks specifically for ford. They are not in the aftermarket line. I did some reasearch on the issue. The bilstein are good and rancho is made by monroe. I have had good luck with the monroe sensatrac shocks on previous vehicles namedly a z71 that had the factory bilsteins. Those I believe are like the fx4 shocks made specifically for gm and not a regular aftermarket part.
