I won a max micro tuner on ebay for $200.. Today was the first day ive ever been able to spin tires on dry pavement coming out of a stop light.. it was exciting.. but i was just wondering, are my EGT's fine. Im getting gauges soon, but until then im gonna run the tuner with no gauges.. i have a 6637 and 3"dp.. should i worry about egt's? i don't really pull anythihng, and ill mainly just be scooting around in performance mode..

its so exciting!

Always good to have a pyrometer. Take it easy with it until you decide on a gauge package. With stock injectors I would think you would be OK for a little while. But don't hold me to it. I'm doing gauges before any other mods. It would drive me nuts not knowing what's going on. Good luck with your rig.

from experience- Superchip+auto tranny isnt always good.

but yes, power is nice from them, just not as nice as the TW...that being said i ran a superchip for a long time and loved the power. i ran it hard towing a lot over a year, no gauges, no intake and havent had a problem. however, after i got my gauges i almost cried when i saw how hot i'd been running : )

I could get my old 97 easily up to 1200+ empty with just a 75hp hypermax max chip, 3"dp and stacks. i mounted the pyro in the dp, 3inches from the turbo, thats where all the big truck engine man. puts them at..

Diesel E- you may want to think about moving that to the exahuast manifold becuase you are not getting an acutate reading. I think it was Cody, not positive and if it was someone else sorry for not giving you the credit, that had 2 probes, one in each place, and he showed upwards of 500* difference between them. That means that your 1200 could have been 1700, which probably would have broken something so it was most likely less but still I like having the most acurate reading possible and for the 15 minutes that it took me to put in the manifold it was worth it.

OP- I ran my dp-tuner without a pyro for about a month I just kept it in the back of my mind when I was messing around to not stay in it that long. So just be careful with it.

With a pre turbo thermocouple you can run 1250 all day long. Much higher than that for any length of time and your pistons are at risk.
