In the parts catalog it list a flywheel for a 65-72 240/300 as 6384. Mine is stamped C6AT-6380. Is this the wrong flywheel or did the number change?
Thank You for all your help!
The parts CD you suggested has been very helpful!

C6AT-6380 is a partial ID number off the flywheel itself, but you are missing the suffix.

It is C6AT-6380-E? If so, the flywheel ring gear has 168 teeth.

Ford replaced the 168 toothed flywheel with a 164 toothed flywheel many years before the final edition of the parts catalog was printed (what the CD was scanned from).

So that ID number of C6AT-6380-E will not be found in the CD.

How do I know this? Besides the CD, I have an original paper catalog printed in 1967, and another catalog on microfiche from 1968.

ID number: C6AT-6380-E originally translated to Ford part number: C5TZ-6375-L.

C5TZ-6375-L was replaced by: C5TZ-6375-P.
---------------------------------------------
6384 is the basic part number for a flywheel ring gear.

6375 is the basic part number for a flywheel or flexplate.

When you look at the flywheel's basic part number of 6375, Ford also lists the ID number for each one.

But....because this number you posted is so old and was replaced, it's not listed.

Welcome to FTE

I'm posting the info here so others can take advantage of it.

There were two different sized clutches used on 1961/64 F100/250's: 10 & 11 inch.

The 10 inch was standard equipment on 1961/64 F100/250's with the 3 speed manual.

The 11 inch was optional on 1961/64 F100/250's with the 3 speed manual, standard equipment with the 4 speed manual.

1961/64 F350's came standard with the 11 inch clutch, the 12 inch clutch was optional, also used on F500/750's.

61-64 clutch

Bill

Can we assume that the engine flywheel will accept either the 10" or 11" clutch?

That depends on which flywheels the trucks have.

One flywheel has two sets of pressure plate mounting holes, one has only one set.
