Ok so my reverse sensors dont work now. Someone said they had this same problem on here and I said I didnt know cause I didnt have that problem then a week later now I do. I first noticed it after I installed my new tow mirrors. You start the truck up and put it in reverse and the light says off and no matter how many times you push the button or hold it it still says off. I didnt move any of the wires in the old wiring harness for the new mirrors but cant see that being the problem. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this. I can start the truck up put it in drive and it dont light up till I put it in reverse. Any help would be great. Dont wana take it to the stealership.
Does anyone have an idea. Its just weird it worked before the new mirrors got put on. Now it dont. I cant see a wire from the old mirrors messing it up
Does all the functions on the mirrors work? Maybe a blown fuse in the process of the mirror install? Do you suppose it didn't work before you installed the mirrors and then after the mirror install you noticed it? Maybe a stray rock clipped a wire at the back of the truck while on a test drive with the new mirrors. I installed a reverse sensing from a explorer on a 2002 f150 and it had nothing to do with the mirrors. Just a switch, control box,and 4 sensors. I do think it had a data wire back to the main computer for the explorer but I never hooked it up on the f150.
All the functions on the mirror work except the defrost cause I have yet to move a couple of the pins around to make them work. As far as them not working before the mirror install Im almost 99% positive that they worked but maybe wrong. I could have sworn they worked though. As for the rock chip its possible but I live on a paved road and have been taking that way with this truck for the last year. I do understand sometimes there are rocks on the road but who knows. The kicker is me and my dad had to drive down to North Carolina yesterday and came back today to pick up my sisters car she blew up on the way to spring break and sometimes they worked and other times they didnt. So Im confused. I thought it was cause the truck was dirty but I never had a problem like that before. I washed the truck before we left and we got there and had to back up it worked. They worked a little today but the truck is dusty now so who knows. I have never had a problem with them being dusty or dirty or anything. Its just really making me mad now.
mine the other day went nuts when i put it in reverse even though there was nothing behind me...i even got out to make sure a kid wasn't behind there that i couldn't see....then the next time i backed up it was fine again....they're not perfect
Well I never had a problem untill I put these mirrors on. Now they work when they want to. Yesterday they worked fine all day but today everytime I start the truck it would light up off. Im lost

mine just started acting up a couple weeks ago... 95% of the time it doesn't work... off light stays on. i'm wondering if i could have gotten water into a harness or connection from pressure washing ice out from under the rear bumper... haven't had time to look yet
